Protests have led to the firing (encouraged resignation) of Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy. Many are calling for the resignation of two elected officials, Mayor Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Cook County States Attorney Anita Alvarez also.

So, after the investigation and the investigation of the investigation and the speeches (this will take awhile) we'll here the recommendations. Likely no elected officials will be fired, a few "generals" will get tossed (although they'll keep their pensions) as well as some officers, the police department moral will reach a new low, and we'll see Chicago residents rise up and vote for the same political party that has put them in this situation. Oh, and crime statistics? Not likely to change much for a generation.
